L’IGCAT vise à autonomiser les communautés locales en les sensibilisant à l’importance de protéger et de promouvoir les richesses alimentaires, culturelles, artistiques et naturelles régionales distinctes dans le cadre de stratégies de tourisme et de développement durables et équilibrés.
C’est essentiel pour protéger notre planète, notre santé, notre bien-être et les économies locales.

L’IGCAT est un institut à but non lucratif créé en 2010, qui travaille avec des consortiums régionaux d’acteurs dans les domaines de la gastronomie, de la culture, des arts et du tourisme.
Elle s’appuie sur l’expertise d’un réseau mondial d’experts et travaille en partenariat avec des organisations intergouvernementales spécialisées.

L’IGCAT décerne le Prix de la Gastronomie de la Région Européenne et Mondiale et assure le secrétariat officiel des Plateformes de la Gastronomie des Régions Mondiales et Européennes.
En outre, l’Institut a développé le European Young Chef Award, le World Food Gift Challenge, le Top Websites for Foodie Travelers Award et le Food Film Menu.
