The ON-IT project looks for virtual internship stories

Are you a university student who undertook a virtual internship in tourism? Or did you support one or more as an academic tutor, in-company tutor, or internship office employee? We would love to know your story!

The COVID pandemic has made evident that, while other types of online learning were already established and effective, remote internships / traineeships were not common and have been boosted by the COVID emergency.

To explore this, IGCAT and the other partners of the ON-IT – Online Internship in Tourism consortium aim to map experiences of virtual internships in tourism in Europe to share best practises and solutions.

Collected stories will be included in an interactive map to be published on the ON-IT project website (soon available) and a few institutions will be invited for follow up interviews, in order to be featured as in-depth case studies.

About the ON-IT project

ON-IT – Online Internship in Tourism project aims to provide guidelines and resources to design and implement meaningful remote tourism internships in higher education. Partners in the ON-IT consortium are: University of Macerata (Italy: coordinator); University of La Laguna (Spain); JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland); Montpellier Business School (France); University of Rijeka (Croatia); Mediterranean Universities Union (Italy); and IGCAT (Spain). The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, under Key Action: Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices – KA226-Partnership for Digital Education Readiness.
