Membership

Considering the vast variety of actors in each region who are concerned with food and cultural diversity (hospitality, tourism, education, culture, heritage, environment, health) as well as; the concerns and aspirations of parents, consumers, farmers and companies, IGCAT considers it essential to have a balanced representation from all stakeholders.

With a vision to ensure all actors in the food, culture and tourism sectors are represented, IGCAT Members include individual experts, regional or local authorities, intergovernmental/international bodies, third sector organisations, associations of private businesses, civil society organisations as well as research and academic institutions.

Membership is structured as follows:

EXPERT INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS

Individual experts selected by IGCAT for their knowledge and experience (on delivery and approval of a curriculum and signing of an expert collaboration agreement). See our criteria for experts.

REGIONAL OR LOCAL PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS

Candidate or awarded Regions of Gastronomy. See our information brochure on how to apply.

INTERGOVERNMENTAL / INTERNATIONAL BODIES

Fee 500€ per year (on signing of a MOU).

THIRD SECTOR ORGANISATIONS

Fee 100€ per year for festivals and civil society organisations (on signing of a MOU).

BUSINESS MEMBERS

Fee 1,000€ per year (please note only businesses with ethical and fair trade principles are accepted and required to sign an MOU. Consultancy companies are excluded unless collaborating with a Region of Gastronomy).

INDIVIDUAL CITIES

Fee 1,000€ per year (on signing of an MOU).

UNIVERSITIES, RESEARCH, INNOVATION CENTRES AND/OR KNOWLEDGE INSTITUTIONS

Representing non-commercial interests or having no corporate members.
Fee 500€ per year (on signing of an MOU).
