The renowned ART&TUR – International Tourism Film Festival (ART&TUR) and the brand-new EATSA ART & TOURISM Film Festival (EATSA – ATFF) have enriched the network of international cinematographic events that support IGCAT’s Food Film Menu initiative.
As a result of a collaboration agreement signed by IGCAT and Centro de Portugal Film Commission, these two important film venues will showcase the Food Film Menu 2021 as part of their official programmes to promote food and cultural diversity from across the European and World Regions of Gastronomy.
Promoted by EATSA – Euro-Asia Tourism Studies Association and organised by Centro de Portugal Film Commission, EATSA – ATFF (25-27 September 2021, Leiria – Portugal) shares with IGCAT a strong commitment to sustainable tourism development.
EATSA – ATFF advocates the Manifesto for the regeneration of the tourism sector, that fosters “socially equitable, environmentally respectful and economically sustainable” tourism models, and will highlight tourism films from all over the world “whose messages contribute to:
- Catalysing socio-economic development, considering not only economic aspects but also social, educational or cultural development indicators.
- Promoting gender equality and decent working conditions.
- Generating improvements in people’s quality of life, based on respect and the conservation of environmental resources, reducing their contribution to climate change.
- Preserving and enhancing the cultural identity of each territory.”
EATSA-ATFF also complements the work of its older brother ART&TUR Festival (26-29 October 2021, Aveiro – Portugal) that in 2021 will celebrate its 14th edition in 2021.
Since its establishment in 2008, the ART&TUR Festival has acted as “a centre of creativity and innovation in the field of the tourism promotion (essential reference for all operators and Tourism entities), as well as a forum for reflection on the new trends in tourism, facilitating dialogue among academic experts and representatives of the business sector.”
A unique event both in the Portuguese and international scene, the ART&TUR Festival is also organised by the Centro de Portugal Film Commission with the official support of the Tourism Authority of Centro de Portugal Region, and is a member of the CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals).
About IGCAT’s Food Film Menu
IGCAT’s Food Film Menu competition encourages high-quality audio-visual content highlighting regional food and cultural diversity. Each year, it collects the best short food films and videos from candidate and awarded European and World Regions of Gastronomy that seek to promote their local food heritage.
Through the Food Film Menu, IGCAT and the Regions of Gastronomy recognise the audio-visual sector as a powerful tool to safeguard and showcase regional food cultures, currently endangered by globalisation, climate change and the loss of biodiversity.
Open call for submissions to the Food Film Menu 2021.
Deadline: 16 August 2021
