Submissions open to IGCAT’s Food Film Menu 2024!

IGCAT has officially launched the most awaited call for submissions for the 6th International Food Film Menu. This annual competition aims to highlight sustainability themes related to food cultures across the globe, through top-notch short films and videos.

Directors from around the world are encouraged to share inspiring food stories from their regions by creatively depicting local food products, recipes, food producers, chefs, food traditions, food innovations, food techniques and practices, food landscapes or built heritage related to regional gastronomy.

Eligible topics in the Food Film Menu 2024 include, but are not limited to: Environment, sustainability and food; Young farmers, fishermen and beekeepers; Food-related visitor experiences; Food and craft artisanal gifts; Young chef ambassadors; World and European Regions of Gastronomy nominated, candidate and/or awarded.

A jury of IGCAT experts in the food, culture and film sectors will elect the best films, as well as award the Best Young Director. All the selected short films will form the Food Film Menu 2024, to be showcased in different film festivals throughout the globe.

IGCAT will also launch a people’s choice vote on Facebook to select the Public’s Favourite Film. All winners will be officially awarded at a ceremony to be held in Tortosa (Catalonia, World Region of Gastronomy award 2025) on 21 September 2024, in the framework of the Terres Travel Festival.
