Food Film Menu 2020: Best Food Film showcasing the Regions of Gastronomy announced

The short film Home of Nordic Flavours 2020 from Trondheim-Trøndelag, European Region of Gastronomy awarded 2022, has been announced as winner of the Regions of Gastronomy category of the Food Film Menu 2020, organised by IGCAT.

Premiered at the 2020 Michelin Nordic Award (Trondheim, February 2020), this short film highlights how the city of Trondheim and its surrounding region have become the new food capital in Norway also known as the Home of Nordic Flavours.

Produced by BERRE Kommunikasjonsbyrå (BERRE Communication Agency), Home of Nordic Flavours 2020 was selected by an international jury of IGCAT experts as the best short film to showcase a Region of Gastronomy, emphasising its unique identity shaped through time by its food, gastronomic traditions and landscape, together with the food ways of the communities that have been inhabiting it in past and present times.

“The best atmosphere, the film makes you want to be in Trondheim-Trøndelag. It makes you smile; so genuine” affirmed jury member Daniela Jelincic.

“This movie is about community, short chains, social cooperation, focused on quality of food, life and people. Nature is always present in the culture of this movie. One of my favourite ways of presentations, which invites you to reflection” stated jury member Dorian Lungu.

The international jury included IGCAT experts: Alessio Cavicchi (Italy), Professor at the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism at University of Macerata; Mai Damgaard Rasmussen (Denmark), Director of the FoodFilmFestival of Aarhus; Daniela Jelincic (Croatia), Senior Reasearch Advisor at the Institute for Development and International Relations of Zagreb; Dorian Lungu (Romania), trainer in in management of intercultural learning; Robert Palmer (Scotland), independent consultant  and former Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage at the Council of Europe; Marina Simião (Brazil), Professor at the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais; and Lidia Varbanova (Bulgaria), Senior consultant, lecturer and researcher in arts, culture and the creative industries.
