Mai Damgaard Rasmussen

Founder and Director – FoodFilmFestival

Mai Damgaard Rasmussen is the founder and director of the festival FoodFilmFestival.dk. She is also the director and founder of Filmselvskab. Mai has studied at The University of Amsterdam, Erasmus University, Milano University and Aarhus University. She holds a MA in Societal History and Art management as well a MA in Cognitive Semiotics. The past 20 years. Mai has been active in the co-creation segment, where she has initiated and organised cross-media projects in Holland, USA and Scandinavia. Since 2011, Mai is part of the Scandinavian Doc Lounge network, where she organises workshops, curates the film selection and produces pop-up film screenings of international documentary films. Mai has furthermore curated exhibitions, book reading, film programs, created film workshops with filmmakers at international film festivals and been part of the jury of international film festivals such as Nordic Panorama, Sundsvall Film Festival and IGCATs Food Film Menu. She is co-founder of Tænketang,  an organisation concerned with sustainability, food innovation, seaweeds, health and the usage of natural resources.Since 2015 Mai has been organising the annual Danish FoodFilmFestival, which connects artistic works, design, hands on learning with medias and food related topics.Together with IGCAT and the first ten awarded Regions of Gastronomy she has developed the Food Film Menu.
