The International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Art and Tourism (IGCAT) is pleased to announce the launch of the new official website for the prestigious Top Foodie Websites competition. This annual competition highlights the most innovative and impactful platforms that connect food, culture, and sustainability. The newly launched website serves as a one-stop hub for participants, offering easy access to competition details, submission guidelines, and resources for potential nominees.
The Top Foodie Websites competition recognizes websites and apps that empower local communities, promote sustainable practices, and preserve cultural and culinary traditions. The annual competition showcases the platforms that play a vital role in increasing international access to quality food and cultural experiences while rewarding those that support micro-businesses and contribute to sustainable territorial development.
IGCAT’s mission with this competition is to celebrate platforms that reflect the core values of sustainable food tourism and culture. By recognizing these websites, we aim to:
- Increase international visibility for niche food and cultural experiences.
- Promote portals and apps that support local micro-businesses.
- Contribute to sustainable territorial development and the preservation of regional food and cultural heritage.
The competition is open to websites and apps that represent the candidate and awarded World and European Regions of Gastronomy, as they continue to build the connection between food, culture, and sustainability.
How the Competition Works

Websites and apps are nominated or submit their entries for consideration. - Step 2: Evaluation by Experts
An international jury of experts will evaluate the entries based on criteria such as creativity, sustainability, and cultural impact. - Step 3: Winners Announcement
The winners will be announced and promoted across IGCAT’s website and social media channels, offering them global visibility through international media.
