A marketing and communication professional with over 16 years of experience, Yasmine Fofana is the founder of Afrofoodie: the 1st food blog of Côte d’Ivoire, Abidjan Restaurant Week & Co-founder of Abidjan Cocktail Week. For the past 10 years, her mission has been to shift the African narrative through its cuisines and elevate culinary tourism on the continent.

Thanks to her continuous efforts in sharing Côte d’Ivoire culinary scene with the world, Yasmine was selected as a Mandela Washington Fellow in 2016 under President Obama’s “Young Africa Leaders Initiative”, a 2017 Chevening Scholar, a 2019/2020 “African Women Entrepreneurship Cooperative” beneficiary and a 2023 Fellow into the “Leading African Women in Food Fellowship” Program by African Food Changemakers.

Yasmine is an IGCAT Expert (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) since 2024 and is currently the 1st Ivorian Ambassador appointed by the World Food Travel Association.

Thanks to her recent collaboration with Africa No Filter as one of their narrative champions, she successfully launched: “Taste of…Africa”, a series of content showcasing the culinary cultures of African destinations while amplifying the stories of chefs and food entrepreneurs.

Yasmine holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Mansfield University of Pennsylvania (US) and a Master in International Tourism Development from the University of Surrey (UK).
