Cáit Noone

Vice President of International Engagement and Head of the Galway International Hotel School at Galway Mayo Institute of Technology. This Institute is a leading Higher Education Institute located on the west coast of Ireland and was the Sunday Times Institute of Technology of the Year in 2015, 2007 and 2004.

She has worked in Higher Education since 1993 and brings significant international experience to her work. Prior to returning to Ireland Cáit was the Dean of the first International Hotel Management School in China – Les Roches Jin Jiang International, a joint venture collaboration between Laureate Education and the Chinese government organisation Jin Jiang. Cáit previously worked for Les Roches School of Hotel Management in Switzerland, a leading Swiss International Hotel School. Cait has been involved in various research projects in the tourism sector in Ireland, UK, Switzerland and Asia.
Her research interest includes many aspects of the tourism industry and teaching and learning.

Cáit is a member of the Irish Hospitality Institute, a professional, voluntary, non-profit organisation. Cáit serves on several regional committees including COPE Galway, a charity based in Galway. She is also a member of the Galway European Capital of Culture Steering Committee and the Galway European Region of Gastronomy Steering Committee. She is also the education spokesperson for The Taste Council of Ireland and is an external examiner to a number of higher education institutes. Cáit represents the Institutes of Technology Ireland (IOTI) on the newly formed Hospitality Oversight Skills Group which works with the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Cáit was awarded the Mike Butt Award in 2013 by the Restaurant Association of Ireland for services to the tourism industry in Ireland.
She holds a BA (hons) in Education, a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA)
