Eva Canaleta Safont is an IGCAT expert (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) since 2015 and a former IGCAT Executive Board member until 2019. She is Academic Director and professor at the University College of Hospitality Management and Culinary Arts of Sant Pol de Mar (EUHT StPOL), Barcelona (Spain). Formerly, she was the coordinator of of EUHT StPOL’s Master in Hospitality Management (2014-2018).
Eva Canaleta has a: PhD in Contemporary History by the University of Balearic Islands; Diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA) in Medical Anthropology by University Rovira i Virgili, Tarragona; Master in Health and Safety at Work: Occupational Risk Prevention by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya; Degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology by the University of Barcelona; Degree in History by University of Balearic Islands; and a Technique of Business and Tourism at the University School of Hospitality and Tourism in Sant Pol de Mar (EIHT StPOL).
She has experience as a freelance consultant, researcher at the University of Balearic Islands, and professional experience in the hospitality and catering sectors. Regarding her academic experience, she has been involved with the University of Balearic Islands (Department of Historic Sciences and Arts Theory), the Council for Scientific Research (CSIC), Barcelona and the Welcome Trust Centre for the History of Medicine, University College London.
