Morana Polovič is a Tourism Professional with more than 25 years of experience. She holds a MA. Degree in Cultural Tourism Development from the University of Sunderland (United Kingdom), with a thesis in “Wine Tourism Development in Slovenia”.
Gastronomy is Morana’s passion since childhood, as her first steps in hospitality started at the family restaurant. For the last seven years she was a Project Manager at Slovenian Tourist Board, where she was responsible for gastronomic projects (such as MICHELIN Guide Slovenia, Gault&Millau Slovenia, European Food Summit, Restaurant Week) and was a coordinator for the Slovenia – European Region of Gastronomy 2021. Besides being an IGCAT Expert (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) since 2024, Morana is also and co-author of Strategy for Tourism Development in Vineyard cottages (2007) and a sommelier, an active member at “Sommelier Slovenia” (a member of ASI – The Association de la Sommellerie Internationale).
With experience as a Tour Guide (in Slovenian, Croatian and English languages), in Quality Management for the hospitality industry, as a Sales Manager and Managing Director of a Travel Agency, Morana currently works as a Regional Tourism Development Consultant and as an Event and Project Manager at Regional Development Agency Green Karst.
