Dr. Gordana Bekčić
Senior Communications Consultant
Since 2016 she works as an independent senior communication consultant, engaged by various clients and national and international projects. Previously to this she was employed in the Government of Serbia as an advisor for public relations and communication, in business sector and international organizations.
Gordana is the founder and director of Belgrade based NGO, Office for Cultural Diplomacy, focused on projects and initiatives in the fieldof cultural diplomacy, cultural heritage and cultural cooperation. She authored the Christmas Bread Festival CHESNITZA, the unique platform for the promotion of common cultural heritage in the area of ritual bread. Her platform has been developed since 2022 till 2025 into the international festival organized in six countries and fourteen locations. Her interests include cultural diplomacy, cultural heritage, cultural strategies and policies, cultural branding and cultural tourism.
Mrs. Bekčić holds a PhD and a master’s degree in US Studies from the Faculty of Political Science, University of Belgrade, Bachelor Degree from the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. She also completed a specialization in Cultural and Gender Studies at the Alternative Academic Educational Network, Belgrade (AAEN). She authored a book that looks into the revolutionary aspects of American statehood (From Idea to freedom) and has written numerous articles related to literature, theater, culture, political science and the media. Her second book about US political history is in the final stages of preparation.
Since 2026, she has been recognised as an Expert by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism (IGCAT).
