Dr. Judith Molnár
Program Director, Civitas Foundation for Civil Society
Dr. Judith Molnár (physicist, Program Director at the Civitas Foundation, manager of the Helyénvaló Food Hub, and researcher in environmental economics) is a Romanian-Hungarian professional with a diverse career spanning education, environmental management, media, and organizational leadership.
She graduated in Physics from Babeș–Bolyai University and later specialized in eco-management through a joint program between the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca and the University of Minnesota. She is currently a PhD student in Management and Organizational Sciences at the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
Her professional journey began as a physics teacher and continued in meteorology, media, and youth services. She later held leadership roles in nonprofit and certification sectors, including serving as Managing Director of CERTOP Rendszertanúsító, and as city manager of Gyergyószentmiklós.
Since 2018, she has been Program Director at the Civitas Foundation and manager of the Helyénvaló Food Hub, remaining active even after her retirement in 2025. She is a key figure behind the professional and community-oriented foundation of this initiative, guiding its development through long-term thinking, a strong commitment to local communities, and the consistent promotion of sustainability principles. Her work focuses on supporting local producers, building trust-based relationships, and developing operational models that can inspire other communities.
Dr. Molnár is also a founding member and active contributor to several professional and civil organizations focused on sustainability, entrepreneurship, and social development. She has been a certified lead auditor for ISO standards in quality, environmental management, and occupational health and safety since 2003. She is a native Hungarian speaker and is fluent in Romanian and English, and since 2026, she has been recognized as an Expert by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (IGCAT).
