This year Bristol is running Bristol 2015, the largest ever year-long programme about the future of cities. It’s doing so as European Green Capital of the year – the first time a UK city has been given the award. Encouraging behaviour change among Bristolians, as well as national and international debate about all aspects of urban life, work and sustainability, provides a unique opportunity, in the runup to the UN climate change conference in Paris in December, to show where a British city works and where it fails, and what all cities must do to create good futures for us all.
