ART OF FOOD: Culture and Food Diversity – Call for Papers!

The 2nd Art of Food: Culture and Food Diversity will take place  on 1-3 July 2015 in Barcelona. This edition will look at the challenges posed by widening market. Against a backdrop of free trade agreements currently under-way between the US and EU, IGCAT experts will explore new initiatives being developed to support culture and food diversity.

Also on the agenda is the new subject of Gastrodiplomacy – ‘The act of winning hearts and minds through stomachs’ (Rockower, 2010). We will look at how national and local authorities are developing international relations through food and culture.

Interested experts and colleagues are invited to send short papers (500-2,000 words) to info@igcat.org by 15 May 2015.

The full programme will be released shortly. For further details on the specific themes explored, please download our Art of Food July 2015 – Call for Papers guide, or email info@igcat.org.
