In India in the past decade, 218 farmers in 156 villages across Maharashtra have benefitted from agri tourism. «These villages have become cleaner, are conserving rural culture and have created employment opportunities for over 2,700 people. In 2014 alone, these farmers engaged 4.14 lakh tourists which generated a turnover of 14.4 crore.». Now, to improve agritourism R. Vasudevan, a Madurai-based chemistry professor, invented a method in which plastic waste can be used to construct durable roads.
