Leading human rights and cultural players of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) gathered in Cape Town on the 4th and 5th of December 2014 to assess the state of the human rights agenda as it pertains to the arts and cultural sectors in Africa. Arterial Network South Africa (ANSA) and Arterial Network’s Artwatch Africa (AWA) programme co-hosted the event, which culminated in a captivating public panel on cultural rights and censorship in Southern Africa. This critical debate continues this week and today, as Arterial Network Zimbabwe hosts an “All Stakeholder Conference” in Harare on 11th and 12th of December with the Minister of Arts and Culture of Zimbabwe, the National Arts Council and various creative industry practitioners to explore further synergies for the advancement of the sector. …READ MORE
