To everyone their own food is one among the topics to be addressed during a cycle of conferences focusing on food- and tourism-related issues that will take place in Bergamo. In the framework of East Lombardy – European Region of Gastronomy 2017, local tourism and service professionals will be invited to join discussions, including this one on how to satisfy customers with special needs. Food and wine storytelling, along with Sustainability and distinctiveness of the tourist offer will also form another discussion.
The meetings will close with a special focus on Food and wine tourism between innovation and tradition and a presentation of the East Lombardy – European Region of Gastronomy 2017 project, fostering the enhancement of quality local food and wine products and culinary traditions, with a view to integrating them in the tourism offer and to improving local sustainability.
Financed by Bergamo’s Chamber of Commerce and organised by Bergamo Sviluppo together with the trade associationsColdiretti, Confesercenti and Ascom, the conferences will take place from 24 October to 29 November.
The European Region of Gastronomy Platform and Award aim to contribute to better quality of life in European regions, by highlighting distinctive food cultures, educating for better health and sustainability and stimulating gastronomic innovation. IGCAT (International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts and Tourism) organises the award with the support of European institutions. It is an international network of experts that aim to guide, facilitate and support leaders in cities, regions and cultural projects to understand the potential of their distinct food, culture, arts and sustainable tourism assets.
