Auparavant, elle \u00e9tait officier du g\u00e9nie de l\u2019arm\u00e9e am\u00e9ricaine et a dirig\u00e9 un peloton dans les provinces de Wardak et de Ghazni en 2010-2011 et a servi dans des \u00e9quipes provinciales de reconstruction en tant que membre de l\u2019\u00e9quipe d\u2019engagement f\u00e9minin pour aider \u00e0 autonomiser les femmes des villages afghans. Elle est titulaire d\u2019une licence d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur professionnel en g\u00e9nie m\u00e9canique de l\u2019\u00c9tat de Californie et a obtenu un baccalaur\u00e9at \u00e8s sciences de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie militaire des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 West Point en 2008. Elle a obtenu son MBA de Harvard en 2015.
