En 2006, il a rejoint l\u2019ancien Institut d\u2019agrobiotechnologie, aujourd\u2019hui Institut des biosciences appliqu\u00e9es, en tant que chercheur. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions actuelles \u00e0 l\u2019Institut des biosciences appliqu\u00e9es &#8211; Centre de recherche et de technologie Hellas, il est responsable de l\u2019unit\u00e9 de biotechnologie agroalimentaire et directeur de l\u2019unit\u00e9 des services. Il collabore en tant que scientifique externe avec la clinique p\u00e9diatrique de la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Aristote de Thessalonique et il est vice-pr\u00e9sident de l\u2019Institut hell\u00e9nique de nutrition, de culture et de gastronomie.<\/p>\n<p>Le Dr Argiriou est impliqu\u00e9 et a \u00e9tabli des r\u00e9seaux par le biais du milieu universitaire et de la recherche \u00e0 travers l\u2019Europe, l\u2019Afrique et l\u2019Asie. Il a \u00e9galement coordonn\u00e9 ou particip\u00e9 \u00e0 des projets europ\u00e9ens, bilat\u00e9raux et nationaux dans divers cadres de financement. Les domaines d\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat scientifique dominants sont l\u2019\u00e9tude de la r\u00e9gulation g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et \u00e9pig\u00e9n\u00e9tique des voies m\u00e9taboliques chez l\u2019homme, le r\u00f4le de la nutrition dans l\u2019apparition de maladies ainsi que l\u2019exploitation des technologies g\u00e9nomiques et prot\u00e9omiques pour am\u00e9liorer les traits qualitatifs et les caract\u00e9ristiques nutritionnelles des plantes et des animaux. Au cours des derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il s\u2019est \u00e9galement int\u00e9ress\u00e9 \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de bases de donn\u00e9es pour la tra\u00e7abilit\u00e9 et l\u2019identit\u00e9 des produits alimentaires bas\u00e9es sur des technologies g\u00e9nomiques et prot\u00e9omiques.<\/p>\n<p>Il a plusieurs ann\u00e9es d\u2019exp\u00e9rience dans l\u2019enseignement dans des institutions acad\u00e9miques et est l\u2019auteur de plusieurs publications scientifiques dans des revues de renomm\u00e9e internationale. Il agit en tant que r\u00e9viseur pour diff\u00e9rentes revues telles que PLoS ONE, BMC Plant Biology, BMC Genomics, Journal of Plant Physiology, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Molecular Biology Reporter, Planta et d\u2019autres.<\/p>\n<p>Il a organis\u00e9 ou particip\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019organisation d\u2019un nombre important d\u2019ateliers et de conf\u00e9rences et a fait plusieurs pr\u00e9sentations invit\u00e9es \u00e0 des conf\u00e9rences, des symposiums et des ateliers, participant en tant que conf\u00e9rencier principal. Il est membre de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 grecque de biologie mol\u00e9culaire et de biochimie, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 grecque des bioscientifiques, de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 europ\u00e9enne d\u2019ath\u00e9roscl\u00e9rose et de la Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 grecque d\u2019ath\u00e9roscl\u00e9rose du nord de la Gr\u00e8ce et membre du conseil scientifique de la Chambre de commerce am\u00e9ricano-hell\u00e9nique, de l\u2019Autorit\u00e9 alimentaire hell\u00e9nique (EFET) et du minist\u00e8re de la Sant\u00e9 pour les politiques nationales de nutrition.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Il a obtenu son doctorat en biochimie et biotechnologie m\u00e9dicale \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 FEDERICO II de Naples en Italie.
