Ses recherches portent sur l\u2019histoire des politiques publiques de la culture en France, notamment \u00e0 partir du XXe si\u00e8cle, l\u2019histoire des politiques patrimoniales, l\u2019histoire des sciences sociales, notamment l\u2019histoire culturelle.<\/p>\n<p>Son livre publi\u00e9 en 2011, \u00ab Pour une histoire des politiques culturelles dans le monde. 1945-2011 \u00bb &#8211; \u00ab Pour une histoire des politiques culturelles dans le monde. 1945-20112), a analys\u00e9 et dress\u00e9 une synth\u00e8se des principaux d\u00e9veloppements depuis la Seconde Guerre mondiale, caract\u00e9risant la politique de renforcement de la culture du monde. Dans l\u2019autre ouvrage paru en 2010, \u00ab Politiques et pratiques de la culture \u00bb, Philippe et les co-auteurs de l\u2019ouvrage collectif proposent une analyse compl\u00e8te et document\u00e9e des r\u00e9formes dans un large domaine des politiques publiques et des politiques culturelles, en d\u00e9passant une perspective purement institutionnelle et en \u00e9tudiant les politiques et pratiques de la culture dans un sens historique.  la sociologie et l\u2019\u00e9conomie et le d\u00e9bat sur les sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s du \u00ab mod\u00e8le culturel fran\u00e7ais \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Philippe est \u00e9galement membre du Centre Georges Chevrier (UMR Cnrs 5605), responsable du p\u00f4le \u00ab patrimoine \u00bb de la Maison des Sciences de l\u2019Homme de Dijon, membre du Comit\u00e9 d\u2019Histoire du Minist\u00e8re de la Culture, et r\u00e9dacteur en chef de la revue U-Culture(s).
