This is especially significant within the framework of the&nbsp;<strong>United Nations\u2019 International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026<\/strong>, as women are the backbone of Manab\u00ed\u2019s culinary traditions, agricultural innovation, and cultural preservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The province of Manab\u00ed is pleased to present the&nbsp;<strong>2025 Voluntary Local Review (VLR)<\/strong>, a testament to its commitment to sustainable and inclusive development. This is the province\u2019s fourth consecutive report since 2022, solidifying its leadership as the first in Ecuador to produce a Voluntary Local Review. The report reflects collaboration with key partners, including the&nbsp;<strong>UNDP<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>INEC<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>CAF<\/strong>,&nbsp;<strong>IGCAT<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>local universities<\/strong>, ensuring technical rigor and reliability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Empowering Women Farmers:\u00a0The Heart of Manab\u00ed\u2019s Sustainable Future<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women farmers<\/strong>\u00a0in Manab\u00ed are the\u00a0<strong>driving force<\/strong>\u00a0behind the province\u2019s\u00a0<strong>agricultural heritage, culinary traditions, and economic resilience.<\/strong>\u00a0Far beyond their role as producers,\u00a0<strong>they are innovators, educators, and guardians of biodiversity<\/strong>, ensuring that Manab\u00ed\u2019s food systems thrive while preserving cultural identity. Their work spans regenerative farming, entrepreneurship, and community leadership, making them essential to the province\u2019s progress in sustainable development. From reviving heirloom crops like cacao and plantain to leading cooperatives that connect local producers with markets, these women are not only sustaining livelihoods but also shaping the future of rural economies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To honour their impact, the 2025 LVR goes beyond symbolic representation by showcasing real stories of resilience and innovation. Through case studies and testimonials, the report highlights how women farmers are adopting sustainable practices, overcoming barriers, and creating economic opportunities for themselves and their communities. These stories also address the challenges they face &#8211; such as limited access to resources, climate change, and market inequalities &#8211; and demonstrate how partnerships with local institutions and programs are helping to overcome them. By integrating their voices into policy and planning, Manab\u00ed is not only recognizing their indispensable role but also&nbsp;<strong>building a more inclusive and equitable future for all<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:12px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Collaborative Path to the SDGs<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a government entity, Manab\u00ed has prioritized evidence-based interventions to achieve measurable and sustainable impact in alignment with the\u00a0<strong>2030 Agenda<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>Sustainable Development<\/strong>.
