From Patmos to Kos. With a dish that has marked all her life: <em>Kakavia<\/em>! The fishermen\u2019s food. Her family\u2019s food. So simple, but truly delicious and nutritious. In this video, we watch the evolution of this dish, along with Aikaterini\u2019s life, always with a deep respect for the tradition and the excellent ingredients of the Aegean Sea.<\/p>\n<p>Directed by <strong>Yiannis Glinatsis-Reisis<\/strong>, <em>The Apocalypse of the Aegean<\/em> was selected by an <strong>international jury of IGCAT experts<\/strong> as the best short film featuring one or more Young Chef Ambassadors who work sustainably and promote local products and producers from their regions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA beautiful narration with a crucial message about the connection between territory and cuisine, as well as the importance of passing knowledge from generation to generation,\u201d stated jury member <strong>Irene Giannakopoulos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA poetic and committed video showing beautiful landscapes and a traditional recipe carefully made on a boat. We then follow this young chef in her gastronomic restaurant, where her undoubted talent is shown,\u201d affirmed jury member <strong>Virginie Br\u00e9geon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>international jury<\/strong>\u00a0of IGCAT\u2019s International Food Film Menu 2023 included:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igcat.org\/team\/mai-damgaard-rasmussen-denmark\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mai Damgaard Rasmussen<\/a>\u00a0(Denmark), Director of the FoodFilmFestival of Aarhus and Chair of the jury;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igcat.org\/team\/lluis-valenti-spain\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Llu\u00eds Valent\u00ed<\/a>, Director of the Girona Film Festival (Spain);\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igcat.org\/team\/irene-giannakopoulos-greece\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Irene Giannakopoulos<\/a>, Founder and President of Amorgos International Film Festival (Greece);\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igcat.org\/team\/robert-palmer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Robert Palmer<\/a>\u00a0(Scotland), independent consultant\u00a0 and former Director of Culture, Cultural and Natural Heritage at the Council of Europe;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igcat.org\/team\/virginie-bregeon-france\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Virginie Br\u00e9geon de Saint-Quentin<\/a>, expert in design, marketing and artistic direction (France);
