{"id":19821,"date":"2019-12-17T17:54:02","date_gmt":"2019-12-17T16:54:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/igcat.org\/?p=19821"},"modified":"2021-01-05T16:37:49","modified_gmt":"2021-01-05T15:37:49","slug":"nearly-half-a-billion-people-in-asia-undernourished-un","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/igcat.org\/fr\/nearly-half-a-billion-people-in-asia-undernourished-un\/","title":{"rendered":"Nearly half a billion people in Asia undernourished: UN"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three million people in the Asia Pacific region must be lifted out of hunger each month, over the next decade if the region is to meet Sustainable Development Goal 2 (SDG) of zero hunger by end 2030, says\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fao.org\/3\/CA7062EN\/CA7062EN.pdf?utm_source=miragenews&amp;utm_medium=miragenews&amp;utm_campaign=news\">a new UN report<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>While \u201csubstantial advances\u201d have been made in the region towards eliminating hunger and\u00a0malnutrition, nearly half a billion people in the Asia Pacific remain undernourished, said the report, released Wednesday (11 December) by four UN agencies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is increased awareness of the dangers of obesity,\u201d David Dawe, senior economist for UN\u2019s\u00a0Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)\u00a0and an author of the report, tells\u00a0<em>SciDev.Net.<\/em>\u00a0\u201c[That] is a good thing.
