He received his PhD in Economics of Food and Environmental Resources from the University of Naples \u201cParthenope\u201d (Italy) and previously a Master of Science (MSc) in Food Economics and Marketing at the University of Reading (UK). He has been a Researcher, Associate Professor, and Full Professor at the Department of Education, Cultural Heritage and Tourism, at the University of Macerata from 2006 to 2021. During his work there, he developed 2 Double Degree programmes in Tourism with Spain and Ukraine. He has also been a Visiting Professor in several universities abroad (San Francisco State, Arctic University of Tromso, G\u00f6teborg, Oviedo).<\/p>\n<p>His professional experience includes coordinating several Erasmus+ funded projects (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thewinelab.eu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Wine Lab<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/foodbiz.info\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FoodBiz<\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/on-it.info\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ON-IT<\/a><\/strong>) and working as a researcher in many national and international research projects. Apart from his academic work, he has been an external expert, evaluator, consultant and trainer, and invited speaker in the fields of Food, Rural and Regional Development, Innovation, Sustainable Tourism, Smart Specialisation Strategy and University-Business Collaboration for both public and private sectors: several DGs of the European Commission (RTD, JRC, EAC, Regio), the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, the Italian Ministry of University and Research and the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage,\u00a0 several regional governments as well as several agri-food firms in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>His work has been published in several international books and journals. He is co-editor of the book series \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.elsevier.com\/books\/book-series\/woodhead-publishing-series-in-consumer-science-and-strategic-marketing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Consumer Science and Strategic Marketing<\/a><\/strong>\u201d published by Elsevier, Managing Editor of the \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wageningenacademic.com\/journals\/ifamr\/general-information\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Food and Agribusiness Management Review<\/a><\/strong>\u201d and Associate Editor of \u201c<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/journals.francoangeli.it\/index.php\/ecag\/index\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Food Economy<\/a><\/strong>\u201c. He is also a member of the Scientific Board of the<strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com\/journal\/bfj\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">British Food Journal<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0and the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.emeraldgrouppublishing.com\/journal\/ijshe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently a scientific coordinator of the MOOC <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.edx.org\/course\/sustainable-food-systems-a-mediterranean-perspecti\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\u201cSustainable Food Systems: a Mediterranean Perspective\u201d<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0offered by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Academy and attended by more than 8000 students worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>Alessio Cavicchi&#8217;s key research interests include:\u00a0Rural development and Branding strategies;\u00a0Marketing of local food and sustainability of food systems;\u00a0Innovation in agriculture and rural areas;\u00a0University-Business Collaboration and Quadruple Helix of Innovation;\u00a0Sustainable Tourism.<\/p>\n<p>His core competence are Agricultural and rural economics;\u00a0Marketing and consumer behaviour;\u00a0Rural and regional development;
