En 2006 se incorpor\u00f3 como investigador al antiguo Instituto de Agrobiotecnolog\u00eda, hoy Instituto de Biociencias Aplicadas. En su puesto actual en el Instituto de Biociencias Aplicadas &#8211; Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n y Tecnolog\u00eda Hellas, es responsable de la Unidad de Biotecnolog\u00eda Agroalimentaria y es el Director de la Unidad de Servicios. Colabora como cient\u00edfico externo con la Cl\u00ednica Pedi\u00e1trica de la Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad Arist\u00f3teles de Tesal\u00f3nica y es Vicepresidente del Instituto Hel\u00e9nico de Nutrici\u00f3n, Cultura y Gastronom\u00eda.<\/p>\n<p>El Dr. Argiriou est\u00e1 involucrado y ha estado trabajando en red a trav\u00e9s de la academia y la investigaci\u00f3n en Europa, \u00c1frica y Asia. Y ha coordinado o participado en proyectos de la UE, bilaterales y nacionales en diversos marcos de financiaci\u00f3n. Los campos de inter\u00e9s cient\u00edfico predominantes son el estudio de la regulaci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica y epigen\u00e9tica de las rutas metab\u00f3licas en humanos, el papel de la nutrici\u00f3n en la aparici\u00f3n de enfermedades, as\u00ed como la explotaci\u00f3n de tecnolog\u00edas gen\u00f3micas y prote\u00f3micas para mejorar los rasgos cualitativos y las caracter\u00edsticas nutricionales de plantas y animales. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, su inter\u00e9s cient\u00edfico se centra tambi\u00e9n en la creaci\u00f3n de bases de datos para la trazabilidad y la identidad de productos alimentarios basadas en tecnolog\u00edas gen\u00f3micas y prote\u00f3micas.<\/p>\n<p>Cuenta con diferentes a\u00f1os de experiencia docente en instituciones acad\u00e9micas y es autor de varias publicaciones cient\u00edficas en revistas de prestigio internacional. Act\u00faa como revisor de diferentes revistas como PLoS ONE, BMC Plant Biology, BMC Genomics, Journal of Plant Physiology, Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, Molecular Biology Reporter, Planta y otras.<\/p>\n<p>Ha organizado o participado en la organizaci\u00f3n de un n\u00famero relevante de Talleres y Conferencias y tiene varias presentaciones invitadas a Conferencias, Simposios y Talleres, participando como orador principal. Es miembro de la Sociedad Griega de Biolog\u00eda Molecular y Bioqu\u00edmica, de la Sociedad Griega de Biocient\u00edficos, de la Sociedad Europea de Aterosclerosis y de la Sociedad Griega de Aterosclerosis del Norte de Grecia y miembro del Consejo Cient\u00edfico de la C\u00e1mara de Comercio Americano-Hel\u00e9nica, de la Autoridad Alimentaria Hel\u00e9nica (EFET) y del Ministerio de Sanidad para las Pol\u00edticas Nacionales de Nutrici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obtuvo su doctorado en Bioqu\u00edmica y Biotecnolog\u00eda M\u00e9dica en la Universidad FEDERICO II de N\u00e1poles en Italia.
