Currently, over 13% of food is lost after harvest, while 19% is wasted at retail and household levels, contributing 8-10% of global emissions.<\/p>\n<p>FAO\u2019s initiatives, such as the Food Loss App (FLAPP), are helping farmers minimize food loss. Efforts have shown success in countries like the Dominican Republic and the Philippines, where improved practices have reduced food loss significantly. Qu highlighted the need for increased investment in climate-resilient infrastructure, consumer education, and global cooperation to meet the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.<\/p>\n<p>Renowned chefs, including Douglas McMaster and Fatmata Binta, joined the event to share their commitment to reducing food waste and promoting sustainable gastronomy.
