This year San Sebasti\u00e1n, Spain, has been honoured European Capital of Culture 2016 and the resident\u00b4s plans are to celebrate this amazing title in style. How? Well, the residents and visitors of San Sebasti\u00e1n will be invited to become part of the cultural program. Pedro Subijama, chef of one of Spain\u2019s best-known restaurants and pioneer of the \u201cnew basque cuisine\u201d, said \u201cThere have always been many cultural initiatives in our city\u201d. This city is renowned for be a gastronomic city, that\u00b4s why \u201cFood arts and Food culture\u201d will be part of this cultural program.<\/p>\n
The Capital of Culture program comprises around 60 projects from the fields of art, dance, cinema, music, architecture and food. This year the organizers want to rid the city of its reputation for terror and violence as Mayor Enero Goia says, \u201cWe want culture to be a factor in the change, it will help us to heal the wounds we still have\u201d<\/p>\n
